Mighty Mouse was famously created by Paul Terry in 1942 as a mixture of two of the preferred characters on the planet, Superman and Mickey Mouse. So it ought to come as no shock that the character has had loads of endurance during the last 75 years. Whether you grew up with these previous cartoons or the Ralph Bakshi revival of the 1980’s, there is a good probability you keep in mind him with some fondness, everytime you hear his sung catchphrase, “Here I come to save the day!”

And now the Mouse is again, in a brand new collection from Dynamite, written by Sholly Fisch with artwork by Igor Lima. The first concern, out in June, options variant covers by legendary artist Neal Adams and painter/legendary fan of previous stuff Alex Ross.

We have not seen any interiors but, nevertheless it’s clear from these covers that that is primarily the basic model of the character, which ought to make for a enjoyable all-ages e-book.

As for Sholly Fisch, he is very excited:

One of my favourite issues about writing comics is getting the prospect to play with characters I’ve beloved all my life, and what’s to not love about Mighty Mouse? Not solely is he humorous, however of all of the tremendous heroes you possibly can identify, there aren’t many who dedicate themselves fairly so actually to preventing for the (ahem) little man. When I used to be a child, my sister and I used to rise up early to observe Mighty Mouse cartoons on TV and, in these prehistoric pre-DVR, pre-streaming days, we might tide ourselves over between exhibits by listening to our Mighty Mouse document (sure, on vinyl. I stated it was prehistoric.) Decades later, I fell in love with the character another time, because of Ralph Bakshi’s brilliantly insane Mighty Mouse TV collection. Now, I get to contribute yet one more distinctive spin on Mighty Mouse, as we deliver him rocketing out of Mouseville and into the actual world… and could not all of us actually use somebody to return save the day? It’s all fairly cool, and I am having monumental enjoyable with the collection. Hopefully, everybody else will, too! Oh, and did I point out that I can nonetheless sing the complete Mighty Mouse theme music by coronary heart? Don’t get me began!
